Our History
Painstakingly, pioneers built our lava rock building in 1911 as a place of worship, social gatherings and education. The lava rock, quarried and carried by horse and wagon from the nearby buttes, then dressed and mortared in place by the pioneers, sets the mood for the important and heroic work now taking place inside
Philosophy
Jefferson Montessori employs two distinct and stellar methods of education: the Montessori Method, and the Thomas Jefferson Method.
These two methods are uniquely suited to allow each student reach their highest potential while being mentored individually. We believe that there should be respect for each child and their potential for greatness. They are taught to use their agency wisely, understand and develop self governance, realize that all choices have consequences(good or bad), and to develop a love of learning.
